If you're
eligible for a survival check, you should receive it.
But in recent weeks, my office started hearing from case managers, local
nonprofits, and advocacy groups that hundreds of people experiencing
homelessness in the Seattle area had been waiting months to get their
checks — critical relief in limbo.
What we heard was that the aid checks individuals are entitled to had
never arrived at the offices of community partners where they receive
their mail. As we connected the dots, it was clear that this was happening
all across the region — and even throughout the country.
So I began investigating why this was occurring and how to fix it. I went
straight to the IRS with my inquiries — and last week, the agency agreed
to finally lift a hold on numerous addresses where those experiencing
homelessness receive their mail. On Friday, we heard great news from the
very same groups who brought this issue to our attention: hundreds of
long-awaited survival checks had arrived!
This is
the kind of necessary work that doesn't always make front-page headlines,
but voters elected me to deliver for them. They sent me to Congress to
fight for everyone — not to be like some politicians who only care about
the wealthy and well-connected. As we take on big challenges, I've always
believed that no victory is too small on our path to progress. [ [link removed] ]If you
can afford it at this time, can you contribute $3 or more
to our campaign right now so I can continue to be a voice for everyone in
Congress? We're hoping to raise $10,000 by midnight tomorrow to keep our
quarterly fundraising on track.

I'll never stop fighting for our communities, for everyone in our
communities.
Thank you, as always, for your support,
