Hi John!
My name is Grace Ryan, and I am this spring’s fundraising and development intern for the Minnesota DFL. I just wanted to reach out and introduce myself as well as thank you for supporting our work!
I recently graduated from Hamline University, where I studied Political Science and Spanish. In many of my courses, we reflect often on the purposes of our research, studies, and actions. Like former St. Paul Mayor Jim Scheibel tells us, we learn our skills not just to hypothesize but to become active citizens and co-creators of our community.
After witnessing the damaging effects of the Trump administration and public policy without thought or conscience, I became determined to help make a change. Putting the words of Professor Scheibel and (personal icon) Senator Paul Wellstone into practice, I joined the DFL to ensure “we all do better” together.
Whether it’s donating or volunteering, the Minnesota DFL relies on grassroots community members like you to fight for our shared values and help Minnesota stay blue.
Governor Walz and Attorney General Ellison both already have extreme right-wing opponents, and we’re expecting even more challengers to announce campaigns as early as this week.
Our DFL fundraising team is working around the clock to shore up our rapid response fund by tomorrow night, but as it stands right now, we’re still more than $9,000 short of our goal.
As Paul Wellstone said, “The future will not belong to those who sit on the sidelines. The future will not belong to the cynics. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” If you believe, as I do, that we can build a better, more just future, so help me help make a difference by making a donation of $10 or more today.
