The most recent legislature has been a disaster under the GOP’s leadership:
FIRST: Republicans wrote extra provisions into I-190 funding -- which had overwhelming public support in the 2020 election -- to remove $20 million of annual funding that would go to conservation of our beautiful public lands as well as to fund our recreational marijuana industry, which Montanans also voted to approve in 2020.
THEN: They passed one of the first voter suppression bills in the country which was subsequently signed by Governor Gianforte without producing an ounce of evidence supporting claims of voter fraud.
NOW: Governor Gianforte just withdrew Montana from the federal COVID unemployment program.
If our GOP-led Legislature’s intent is to be as cruel and undemocratic as possible, then they’ve done a fantastic job and should be re-elected. But we think it’s time for a change.
