Here are several things you can do to show your support for Israel. Click to View in Browser [link removed] [link removed] Dear John,

During the past week, Hamas—the terrorist group ruling Gaza—has fired thousands of rockets at Israeli towns and cities, placing millions of Israelis in grave danger. As of this writing, ten Israeli civilians have been killed. Hundreds more are wounded.

On top of the physical assault, we are also witnessing an assault on truth in the public arena. Too many news outlets, social media influencers, members of Congress, and even celebrities are portraying Israel as the instigator, the aggressor. All for having the audacity to defend itself against a terror group committed to its destruction.

But we know the truth. Israel does not seek violence. It has always sought peace—and achieved it with several of its neighbors. Forced into this latest escalation by Hamas incitement, Israel protects its citizens and sovereignty while taking every possible measure to avoid Palestinian deaths. By contrast, Hamas will go to any length to murder Israeli civilians, including putting Palestinian civilians in harm’s way.

American Jewish Committee (AJC) has been there throughout, standing up for Israel’s right to exist in peace and security—just as we have done every day since the establishment of the Jewish state. As we mourn the loss of innocent life, both Israeli and Palestinian, and pray for a swift end to this flare-up, we will continue to do all that we can to support the Jewish homeland.

We know that you want to be there for Israel too. Here are several things you can do right now to help strengthen Israel and show our Israeli brothers and sisters that they are not alone. Advocate for Legislation That Targets Hamas:
AJC has been advocating for bipartisan legislation in Congress that cuts off Hamas’s terror funding. Go to AJC.org/StopHamas to urge your U.S. Representative to back the Palestinian International Terrorism Support Prevention Act (H.R.261). [link removed] Push Back Against Misinformation:
AJC has been calling out members of Congress, celebrities, reporters, and others in positions of power who spread anti-Israel propaganda and lies. The public needs to know the truth. You can help make sure they get it by sharing this AJC content with people in your network: AJC's response to Senator Bernie Sanders’s recent essay in The New York Times [link removed] AJC CEO David Harris’s open letter to TV host Trevor Noah [link removed] AJC’s Avi Mayer takes on a few of the egregious statements made by prominent individuals [link removed] What’s Actually Happening in Israel and the Gaza Strip [link removed] 4 Myths and Facts About the Violence in Jerusalem [link removed] What Hamas is Hiding [link removed] Find more op-eds, news, and analysis at AJC.org/GlobalVoice. AJC has been leveraging our relationships to prompt governments and elected officials worldwide to condemn Hamas and stand with democratic Israel. Go to AJC.org/GlobalOffices and contact your local AJC Regional Office. Find out how you can get more involved in AJC’s diplomatic and political advocacy work. [link removed] Help Spread Truth:
AJC has been educating millions of people on social media about the reality of what’s going on in Israel. Make sure to follow AJC on Twitter [link removed], Facebook [link removed], and Instagram [link removed] so you can help us spread our message more widely. Right now, Israel needs us. And what we do matters. Together, we can help set the record straight about the situation on the ground, promote legislation that will beat back terror and make Israel safer, and push our leaders to stand on the right side of history.

Please join AJC in showing your support for Israel by taking the actions above.

With best wishes for a happy Shavuot and hope for a more peaceful tomorrow,

Belle Yoeli
