First, I want to thank you for everything you did to elect a Democratic president, a Democratic House, and a Democratic Senate in 2020. Thanks to you we have an opportunity to make a real difference for the American people -- and I'm proud to say we're acting on that opportunity. President Biden has signed the American Recovery Plan into law, which will provide COVID relief to families who need it, speed up vaccinations, and so much more.

That wouldn't have been possible if Democrats didn't control the House, John.

But we're not stopping there. We also passed the For the People Act, much-needed legislation to reform our elections and push back against Republican voter suppression. We passed two lifesaving gun violence prevention bills. We passed the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.

This is the year we can get all those bills and more to President Biden for signature, but there's a catch: We have to be able to protect our House majority against Republican attacks. The GOP media machine is constantly spreading lies about Democratic bills and Congressmembers. We need to be able to protect our members against this onslaught -- not in 2022 but right now.

The truth is, our majority in the House is slim. And if Republicans get their way in the upcoming redistricting process, several of those seats could flip without a single vote being cast.

That's why it's so, so critical that we consistently push back on GOP attacks, defend our members, and make sure Democrats have the support they need to run successful campaigns. But that takes resources, John. I know the next election seems far away but we need to start right now if we want to be successful.
