Just four days ago, House Republicans purged Liz Cheney from their leadership for refusing to go along with Donald Trump’s Big Lie about the 2020 election. Their strategy going forward is clear: embrace Trump and his lies, no matter what the cost, and use him to win elections.
Now, Republicans are putting that strategy to the test and have their sights set on flipping Secretary Deb Haaland’s congressional seat (NM-01) on June 1st. We just can’t let that happen.
Fending off this Republican attack on our majority is Melanie Stansbury – a Democratic leader who will fight for both our democracy and progressive change.
But the race is tightening . And with less than three weeks to go until Election Day the GOP is deploying their usual strategy: funneling lies and massive sums of money into the race to win.

Growing up her family struggled to make ends meet. But like many families across our country, grit, determination, resilience, and heart helped her get by. She became a scientist and educator, working on water and lands matters, just like Secretary Haaland.
As a New Mexico state representative, Melanie has fought to address the issues that have directly impacted her community: affordable food, clean water, shelter, economic security and justice, and climate change.
