Back Forty mine developer backs off

After a five-year legal battle, the Menominee Tribe of Wisconsin won a crucial victory when a mining company withdrew its permits for the proposed Back Forty mine. The mine would’ve polluted the Tribe’s namesake river and destroyed ancient burial mounds, dance rings, and culturally important sites. Read more:
