People For Member,
Four months ago former President Trump incited a violent attack on the U.S. Capitol building, following months of spreading his Big Lie that the 2020 election was rigged. Millions of people watched as insurrectionists stormed the building seeking to attack members of Congress who were inside, in a desperate and dangerous effort to delay the certification of the election’s results.
But despite a lot of talk about the need for accountability and investigations, not enough has happened since Trump’s impeachment over the attack – and he was far from the only person who incited violence that day.

Democracy prevailed on January 6, but we must prevent future lawlessness and insurrection. We must make it clear that if you attack our democracy, there will be consequences. A commission to investigate the January 6 attack has been proposed in the House and will be voted on in the days ahead, so that we can get a full accounting of how the events of January 6th came about so that those responsible can be held responsible and we can ensure that this never happens again.
Democracy advocates, congressional staff, and others will come together in virtual roundtable discussion about the commission, what it could accomplish in terms of justice, the current state of play, and our plan to make sure that there is accountability for all of those involved in the violent attack. Learn from the experts how you can help ensure that we get to the truth about how the insurrection happened so that justice can be achieved for all of us, including those who were murdered and those whose lives were threatened on January 6, 2021.
RSVP now to join us on Tuesday, May 18 on advocating for accountability for the January 6 insurrection! >>
Together, we can protect and strengthen our democracy.
In unity,
Sarah, Digital Campaigns Associate
