Good morning friend,

As a Dignity in Dying supporter, we know you’re especially motivated and committed to this cause - and we’re so grateful to have you with us to fight the good fight.

I'm always struck by how driven supporters are to create change and what motivates you to fight for a new law on assisted dying. So we thought we’d go straight to the source.

As a committed supporter, I’d love it if you could answer three quick questions about why you support assisted dying and how you think we can win.  Here’s the first question:

Why do you support Dignity in Dying?

Thanks to your commitment, there have been some major developments for the campaign in recent months. Secretary of State for Health, Matt Hancock, spoke at our Parliamentary meeting in April - the first time a Minister has spoken at one of our events - and announced that he had commissioned the Office for National Statistics to publish data on the impact of the current law on dying people and their families.

The campaign in Scotland really amped up ahead of the election last week to deliver the most pro-choice Scottish Parliament ever. This was thanks to the adverts that Dignity in Dying supporters like you helped to fund, that were plastered across national newspapers throughout April.

There’s so much more to do, Friend - but I know that together we can make the most of every opportunity and face every challenge head on. Could you answer these three quick questions? Here’s that first one again:

Why do you support Dignity in Dying?

There’s a long way still to go but the road to changing the law is looking increasingly clear - and it’s all thanks to you.

Keep fighting,

Sadie Kempner
