OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) Daily Report 237/2019 issued on 7 October 2019

Based on information from the Monitoring Teams as of 19:30, 6 October 2019. All times are in Eastern European Summer Time.

Summary

  • Compared with the previous reporting period, between the evenings of 4 and 5 October, the SMM recorded more ceasefire violations in both Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
  • Between the evenings of 5 and 6 October, the Mission recorded fewer ceasefire violations in both Donetsk and Luhansk regions, compared with the previous 24 hours.
  • The Mission saw fresh damage from small-arms fire to two apartments in Dokuchaievsk.
  • Inside the Stanytsia Luhanska disengagement area, the SMM saw ongoing dismantling works at the broken section of the bridge.
  • It recorded ceasefire violations inside the Zolote disengagement area.
  • The Mission saw 45 weapons in violation of withdrawal lines on both sides of the contact line, including at the former Luhansk international airport.
  • It saw anti-tank mines near Luhanske and Nyzhnie Lozove, some for the first time.
  • Restrictions of the SMM’s freedom of movement continued, including at non-government-controlled checkpoints in Petrivske, Verkhnoshyrokivske and Yasne.*
  • In Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv and Zolote-1/Soniachnyi, the SMM monitored peaceful gatherings related to the latest political developments.
