Hello — I have an important ask. Will you chip in a donation of any amount to help give our fundraising a boost before tonight’s mid-month deadline? I’ll explain further in just a second.

By now I’m sure you’ve heard of call time. Some folks recommend that elected officials spend 6 to 8 hours a day (!) calling donors and raising money for their re-election campaigns. Simply put, our broken campaign finance system has made call time a necessary evil to ensure we can stay in Congress and continue our work.
But, that’s a lot of time spent asking for money instead of doing our jobs for the American people. And frankly, it’s not what I was elected to do.
I was elected to fight for legislation that will make a difference for New Mexico’s workers and families. And thanks to grassroots donations of $10 or $25 at a time from folks like you, that’s exactly how I get to spend my days in Washington.
That’s why deadlines like this one matter so much. If we can reach our goal by midnight tonight, we’ll have a steady base of funds to rely on and I can spend my time connecting with New Mexicans, supporting candidates who will move our state forward, and advocating for the issues that matter most.
So, here’s my ask for you — will you pitch in any amount that makes sense for your budget to help us keep pace with our fundraising goals and ensure I can stay focused on the important fights ahead?

Your donation now ensures that my team and I can stay focused on the important work ahead. I am so grateful for your support and faith in the country we are building together.
Thank you,
— Martin
