Dear John,

As Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month continues, the Women’s and Fair Practices Departments want to highlight the issues and realities Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community members are facing. Over the past year, hate crimes towards the AAPI community have soared, yet little attention to or conversations around these attacks have been had. The injustices and whitewashing of our AAPI community have gone on with little to no recognition nationally.

AFGE wants you to know that we value the voices, lives and rights of our AAPI community, and we stand in solidarity with them.

Please watch the video below to hear from some of our AAPI members and their lived experiences.

I want to thank you for your ongoing advocacy and urge us all to make space for our Asian American and Pacific Islander community to be seen, heal and thrive.

In Solidarity,

Jeremy A. Lannan
NVP for Women and Fair Practices
