My biggest fear was realized -- the week of my 23rd birthday I was diagnosed with endometriosis. I was working a minimum wage job and couldn’t afford the cost of insurance or out-of-pocket visits. Thanks to Title X, my health care provider at Planned Parenthood was able to help me by coming up with a reasonable treatment plan for my endometriosis and the rest of the team was able to give me the best care possible, thanks to Title X. The Title X gag rule was designed to target abortion providers -- and in practice, it forced community health cares providers like Planned Parenthood health centers out of the program. We have the opportunity to swiftly end the gag rule, and I know many of you are ready to take action with the millions of people Title X serves.
