John — By now you’ve probably seen the news that a ransomware attack forced the shutdown of a pipeline that delivers fuel from the Gulf Coast to the Northeastern states.
This attack has reminded us of two important truths: 1.
Our
grid
is
vulnerable
to
attack,
and;
2.
We
need
to
modernize
our
energy
infrastructure,
making
it
both
cleaner
and
more
secure
at
the
same
time.
Our SEEC members in Congress have long been fighting to modernize and clean up our energy grid. Will you donate today to support their efforts? [[link removed]]

The pause in Colonial Pipeline operations led to gas shortages in impacted communities, as customers rushed to fill their tanks. The entire nation could see a rise in gas prices because of the attack.
It is long past time to make the necessary investments to modernize our energy grid and protect it from future attacks. Experts warn hackers could target basic services like heat, light, and transportation, as well as hospitals and schools.
It is also critical that we harness this moment to shift to a clean energy grid, because addressing the climate crisis is essential to our security.
SEEC members in Congress are fighting for energy investments that help us address 21st-century challenges, including both climate change and cybersecurity. Will you donate to SEEC PAC to ensure these issues stay top-of-mind in Washington? [[link removed]]
