Greetings John,
At the Ms. Foundation for Women we know that JOY is powerful. It sustains us. It is an act of resilience. It gives us hope (and we all need a little bit of hope after the past year). So get ready to unleash your JOY and join us at our virtual gala on Thursday, May 20 at 8 pm EDT/5 pm PDT. Our theme is JOY UNMUTED, and while we can’t be together in person, the free event allows us to come together in community and share in our collective joy. You won’t want to miss it!
- Recognize and celebrate the lifetime work of activist honorees Laura Jiménez of California Latinas for Reproductive Justice and Marissa Nuncio of the Garment Worker Center in LA.
- Honor three phenomenal national leaders: Amanda Gorman, 2021 Inaugural Poet, Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett, who helped develop Moderna’s covid-19 vaccine, and Amanda Nguyen, civil rights activist and founder of RISE.
- Express your JOY at the virtual photobooth and social wall that allow you to take part in the event.
- Enjoy featured appearances by Patricia Carbine, Letty Cottin Pogrebin, Gloria Steinem, Marlo Thomas, Kelly Marie Tran, and Teresa C. Younger.
- Check out a musical performance by folk artist, Joy Oladokun, who recently made her late-night debut on Jimmy Fallon.
Join us at our 33rd Annual Gloria Awards: A Salute to Women of Vision as we celebrate trail-blazing honorees and raise critical funds for the pioneering activists and leaders who are creating safe, just and bright futures for all. Register for your free ticket now!
In joy,
Ruth McFarlane
