Friend -- I'm about to take the virtual stage at our first-ever Morning Coffee and Concert event, and wanted to send you a quick note.
Next year's election isn't going to be easy (more on that below). But I believe that if we run a campaign built on optimism, common sense, and common decency, we'll be able to beat whatever the GOP's dark money machine throws at us.
Before I take the stage, I'm asking one last time: Can you chip in to show you've got my back? Every dollar makes a difference.
Thanks so much,
Dean Phillips

Subject: Did you see Ted Cruz's op-ed?
Friend,
Did you see Ted Cruz's op-ed in the Wall Street Journal a couple weeks ago?
In a message to "woke" CEOs, he wrote: "When the time comes that you need help with a tax break or a regulatory change, I hope the Democrats take your calls, because [Republicans] may not. Starting today, we won't take your money either."
Senator Cruz's line of thinking is one that's all too common on Capitol Hill: that corporations should be able to buy access to lawmakers and call them up whenever they need a law to work in their favor.
But with you, Dean, and countless others across America, we're moving our politics in a different direction -- one where members of Congress actually serve the people they represent, not corporate donors trying to buy influence.
If you still stand with Dean, chip in $5 or whatever you can by midnight. Your donation will fuel us up for Dean's reelection campaign and get you a ticket to our first-ever Morning Coffee & Concert event tomorrow, featuring special musical guests!
If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately
Dean is the only member of Congress who doesn't accept a dime in PAC money. That means corporate PAC dollars. No fellow lawmakers' PAC dollars. No PACs, period—which Senator Cruz certainly can't say. (According to Cruz's own op-ed, he's taken $2.6 million in contributions from corporate PACs!)
This means we need to do some aggressive fundraising to compete with the GOP's dark money machine -- especially now that the National Republican Congressional Committee has named Dean a top target to beat in the midterms.
We're betting on optimism over fear and people over PACs, and we hope you'll join us -- literally:
Chip in to Dean's campaign today, then join us Saturday morning for a celebration of political progress with performances by Jeremy Messersmith, Guster's Ryan Miller, and rising star Allie McIntosh (plus remarks from Dean himself).
Thanks for being a part of this!
