Tell Congress:
“Decrease Pentagon spending and move the money to fund human needs!”

John,
In order to fight for a budget that prioritizes human needs, we’re demanding Congress cut wasteful spending at the Pentagon.
Join CHN and our broad national coalition to demand Congress invest in our communities instead of pouring billions of dollars more into a bloated Pentagon budget!
Senator Bernie Sanders, who chairs the Senate Budget Committee, this week tweeted a quote from President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who warned about the military industrial complex.

“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone.”
– President Dwight D. Eisenhower

Eisenhower was right.
And, now, we have the opportunity to act. President Biden has advanced a budget that reduces the percentage of the budget the Pentagon receives and has added billions more in investments to address the critical human needs of millions of people.
For the first time in a generation, military spending represents less than half of the overall proposed budget. Make no mistake―billions more can and should be cut from the Pentagon, and we hope Congress does so. But, in order to advance President Biden’s budget that invests in critical human needs including nutrition, affordable housing, education, health care and more, we’ll have to overcome major resistance from the military industrial complex, including war hawks in Congress.
John, that's why we are counting on supporters like you. Add your name today. President Biden has advanced a solid budget that shares our priorities. Now, it is time for Congress to act.
Thank you for all you do to demand accountability from our political leaders and to fight for an investment in our future.
