I’m going to be honest -- this headline scared me. Because outside of obstructing progress, Mitch McConnell’s only real “accomplishment” is installing a record number of judges to the federal courts and packing the Supreme Court.
So if conservatives are saying he’s taking on the For the People Act with the same fervor, I’m concerned. If you are too, can I count on you to help fund our campaign to fight McConnell’s strategy to erode support for the bill?
A few weeks ago, McConnell told conservative leaders that defeating the For the People Act is his top priority.
Mitch called the bill a “partisan takeover” -- literally as state legislatures in places like Texas, Ohio, and Florida were working to pass some of the most extreme voter suppression bills we’ve ever seen.
The For the People Act would stop the partisan takeover in the states we’re seeing -- but only if we protect the bill from McConnell’s strategy to spread disinformation and erode public support.
