Hello,

In a minute I am going to ask you to split a contribution between my friend, Congresswoman Grace Meng, and our campaign, but first I want to tell you a little bit more about Grace and her tireless advocacy work for the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Community.

Grace serves as First Vice-Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) and as Chair of the Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders Rising & Empowering (ASPIRE) PAC. In these roles, Grace supports AAPI candidates and elected officials and works to ensure that AAPI voices and concerns are heard in the political process.

As Congresswoman, Grace has introduced numerous pieces of legislation to protect and stand up for members of the AAPI community. Most recently, she put forth a resolution to condemn the rise in anti-Asian sentiment and introduced the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act. I was proud to sign on as a co-sponsor for both of these efforts.

As the daughter of immigrants and proud member of the AAPI community, Grace knows that our country's diversity brings us strength. But too many of our fellow elected leaders haven't stood on the right side of this issue. Instead, they've fanned the flames of misinformation and fear, and, as a direct result, we've seen a rise in violence against members of the AAPI community and other communities of color.

Now more than ever we need strong advocates like Grace in Congress. This AAPI Heritage Month, will you join me in supporting Grace by splitting a contribution between her campaign and ours?
