John,
I joined the Army in 2004 right after high school.
In 2007, I deployed to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
If you had told me back then that we’d get to the 18th anniversary of the war in Afghanistan and still have troops deployed there, I wouldn’t have believed you.
But here we are.
As our nation reflects on this anniversary, I’m convinced that it is far past time to re-evaluate our presence in Afghanistan. Not only have we accomplished our original objectives, but our current military engagement doesn’t serve our national interest. We are needlessly risking the lives of our service members.

Let’s honor the sacrifice of thousands who served and are still serving by rethinking our foreign policy. Tell your lawmaker to bring our troops home from Afghanistan.
In Service,
