Dear Friend of Israel,
73 years ago today, David Ben-Gurion declared the independence of the modern State of Israel.
It marked the end of Jewish exile, the rebirth of Jewish sovereignty in their ancient homeland, and the fulfillment of a 2,000-year dream.
Ben-Gurion’s words were an act of defiance as the surrounding armies attacked the fledgling state and sought its destruction.
From the very first moments of independence, Israelis have had to fight to preserve the dream of freedom, peace and security.
This past week was a somber reminder that 73 years later, that fight continues.

Israelis endured 2,000 rocket attacks in just five days – an unprecedented wave of terrorism that was met with the same strength and determination that has propelled Israel forward since its first day.

The IDF has responded to Hamas in Gaza. The modern and moral fighting force is defending Israel, striking terror infrastructure above and below ground all while taking proactive steps to protect the same Palestinian civilians Hamas uses as human shields.
Once again, our work is helping keep Israel safe and strong.
- Iron Dome has saved countless lives and helped Israel avoid unthinkable destruction. This technological marvel, funded annually by Congress, has changed the equation for Israeli citizens and decision-makers.
- Together we’ve worked to ensure Israel has the resources it needs to defend itself. The annual security assistance we fight for each year has helped enable the IDF to respond to Hamas as it seeks to establish new deterrence.
- With your help, Congress and the administration are speaking out with clarity and conviction that Israel has the responsibility to defend itself against Hamas terror, and America has its back.
More must be done now.
As we saw last night on the House floor, some in Congress, backed by anti-Israel campaigns, are condemning Israel and justifying Hamas terrorism.
As we head into the weekend, we need you to:
