Dear John,

Last July, LDAD joined DC Bar leaders — including four former DC Bar Presidents — to file a comprehensive anddetailed 37-page ethics complaint ([link removed]) against the now former U.S. Attorney General William Barr with the DC Bar's Office of Disciplinary Counsel. To date, that complaint remains active.

Fast-forward to May 3, 2021: USDC Judge Amy Berman Jackson in CREW v. DOJ issued a powerful opinion confirming in detail that Mr. Barr, as AG, intentionally misled Congress and the public about the findings of the Mueller report.

For this reason, today we submitted a supplement to our July 2020 ethics complaint, urging the DC Bar's Office of Disciplinary Counsel to finally take the obvious step of investigating and disciplining Mr. Barr.

The integrity of the legal profession and confidence in the justice system depends on our ability to self-regulate.

Gross ethical misconduct must be the subject of disciplinary investigation and prosecution in order to uphold the rule of law. The conduct of the Attorney General in particular must be subject to professional accountability.

Please join us in our effort to engage and energize leaders and members of the bar, as well as our fellow citizens, in taking a non-partisan stand in support of bar discipline and accountability for members of our profession who actively and intentionally engage in conduct that is in contradiction to the law, Constitution and core democratic principles.

Thank you for your support. Please feel free to circulate this update to your networks.

We look forward to being in touch,

Scott Harshbarger
