Tonight is our mid-quarter fundraising deadline and I wanted to take a moment to explain how important these emails are to the work I’m doing in Washington.

Many of my colleagues aren’t lucky enough to have supporters like you who respond to emails like this one, which means they spend more time dialing for dollars or at virtual fundraising events than doing their jobs. It’s not because they enjoy doing it — it’s just the reality of our broken, post-Citizens United political system.

Your contributions to these emails allow me to focus more on doing the work the people of Wisconsin elected me to do in the first place. Thanks to you, I can spend more time working to expand affordable health care, increase the minimum wage, and make sure my constituents get the support they need during this crisis.
