John,
When I first ran for governor, I set out to lead New Mexico toward a greener future, and it's been my honor to keep that promise. Today, New Mexicans can breathe easier knowing that we are taking significant action toward cleaner air, cleaner water and preserving a livable climate.
During my time as governor, I've signed laws that will improve air quality for generations to come. I've also unveiled rules that will reduce fossil fuel pollution in communities that have been burdened with dirty water and dirty air. These rules will demand gas producers reduce leaks and emissions while creating new jobs in pollution prevention. And, I've taken strong action to help New Mexico transition to clean, renewable energy that means all our power generation will be carbon-free by 2045.
I have a vision for a greener New Mexico, where every child has clean air to breathe, every family has clean water to drink and all of our beautiful natural landmarks are preserved for future generations. We still have work to do to make that vision a reality, but we can accomplish this challenge if we work together.
I know that New Mexico can't take on this challenge alone: We need others with us in this fight for a greener future. That’s why I was so honored to be the only U.S. governor to participate in President Biden’s Leaders Summit on Climate. But to keep working with global leaders on climate solutions for New Mexico and our planet, I need your support, John.
It's going to take all of us – and a lot of courage – to make the environmental progress that we need to see in the coming years. In New Mexico, we need your help to keep environmental champions in office and elect Democrats down the ballot. I’ve set a goal to raise $10,000 by midnight tonight to continue our environmental work – and we’re counting on supporters like you to help us reach it.
We've made such great environmental achievements together – but we can't stop now, John. Will you pitch in to support all of the important environmental work we've achieved and help build a brighter, greener future for New Mexico?
Thank you,
Michelle Lujan Grisham
