Rep. Liz Cheney made a bold move when she refused to remain silent as Trump once again insisted that Biden stole the election, shooting back: “The 2020 presidential election was not stolen. Anyone who claims it was is spreading THE BIG LIE, turning their back on the rule of law, and poisoning our democratic system. … The Republican Party is at a turning point, and Republicans must decide whether we are going to choose truth and fidelity to the Constitution.”
But the GOP is already too far gone. They're moving to remove Cheney from her leadership position for speaking out against the Big Lie -- and they've already ostracized her among their base.
We don't agree with Liz Cheney on many fronts, but we're glad to see her defend our democracy in a sea of Republican strong-men who continue to cater to Trump's will. As the GOP makes a move to silence the highest ranking woman in their party, we need to show that the American people will continue to stand by the truth.
