NASN Supports More Nurses
in Underserved Schools
The National Association of School Nurses (NASN) thanks Rep. Dina Titus (D-Nevada) and Sen. Jon Tester (D-Montana) for their leadership in introducing the Nurses for Under-Resourced Schools Everywhere (NURSE) Act, which would help rural and underserved schools hire more full-time school nurses.

Infection Prevention and Control in Schools Resources Launched
COVID Collaborative, Harvard’s Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics, Brown School of Public Health, and New America task force released resources to help schools implement CDC guidance and safely get students and staff back to in-person learning. The guidance focused on infection prevention and control, including a roadmap of helpful case studies, a consensus statement from leading scientists on the science of how to best protect students and staff, and a use of funds memo outlining how to strategically use authorized funds.

Skin Cancer Awareness Month
Skin cancer is America’s most common cancer, and it can affect anyone. Fortunately, skin cancer is also one of the most preventable forms of cancer. About 90 percent of nonmelanoma skin cancers and 85 percent of melanoma cases are associated with exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun. Share facts about the dangers of unprotected exposure with your school communities, encouraging people to check their skin for warning signs. Download stats, fliers, and other resources to help you get the word out.
Communities Talk to Prevent Underage Drinking Kicks Off
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s eighth round of Communities Talk to Prevent Underage Drinking is officially underway. You can register for a planning stipend to host a Communities Talk activity for your school. See a toolkit to help you plan an activity. Two Registration Options Give You Choices for Attending NASN2021
We are once again offering two registration options for NASN2021. Learn more below about the differences between the two:

Virtual NASN2021 | 24.25 CNE Contact Hours

  • 14.5 + 6.0 CNE of sessions presented during a 5-day schedule.
  • If you miss the sessions when they are presented, you can still view them on your own time for 90 days following the conference.
  • The + 6.0 CNE accounts for the six sets of concurrent sessions presented in the 5-day schedule. You can view one when it is presented and still view the other on your own time for 90 days following the conference.
  • 3.75 CNE of poster presentations you can view on your own time for 90 days (.25 for each poster).

Virtual NASN2021 PLUS | 34.25 CNE Contact Hours

  • All of the Virtual NASN2021 content (24.25 CNE contact hours described above).
  • 10 CNE from additional courses you can on your own time for 90 days.
