Fight for $15

John,

BREAKING: McDonald's just announced they are increasing pay to an average of $15/hr by 2024...but only in their corporate stores. This means that the raise only applies to SOME WORKERS IN 5% of McDonald's locations -- roughly 650 stores out of nearly 14,000. It doesn't apply to me.

McDonald's "raise" is nothing more than a PR stunt. We know the truth. McDonald's made $5 billion in corporate profits last year. They can afford to raise pay to $15/hr for every single employee, not just some employees at corporate-owned and operated stores.

Make no mistake: McDonald's would not have even made this step without years of organizing from workers like us. And I'm going to keep showing up until we win $15/hr for EVERY worker.

Join striking workers to demand $15/hr and union rights for all McDonald's workers >> [actionnetwork.org/event_campaigns/15hr-day-of-action?utm_campaign=LowPay&utm_medium=email&utm_source=EM-05-13-21&ms=EM-05-13-21]

McDonald's has always treated me like I'm disposable. Whether it's McDonald's rampant and harmful culture of sexual harassment or their failure to protect workers from COVID, they made their priority clear long before the pandemic: their priority has always been profit over people.

Here's my bottom line: I only make $10.50/hr. I can barely make rent and have enough left over to buy groceries. $15 is the bare minimum we need to survive.

That's why I'll be out in the streets: McDonald's could pay ALL workers $15/hr TOMORROW, and that's exactly what we're demanding. RSVP to join striking workers across the country for a day of action on May 19th >> [actionnetwork.org/event_campaigns/15hr-day-of-action?utm_campaign=LowPay&utm_medium=email&utm_source=EM-05-13-21&ms=EM-05-13-21]
