Did you see me debate Bernie Sanders on the Senate floor?
I spoke on the floor in objection to "Modern Monetary Theory," an insidious
economic theory that promotesprinting more money to pay for more expansive
government programs. It doesn't view government debt as an issue and does
nothing to stop rapid inflation from spiraling out of control.

Bernie didn't like my objections to this dangerous economic policy and
proceeded to debate me on the Senate floor. He seems to think that governments
can raise taxes, spend taxpayer money frivolously, and ignore the eventual
inflation and massive debt their radical policies cause.
We’re already $28 trillion in debt, and the Radical Left is advocating for

To those who promote this theory, I ask this: "Have you asked your children
and grandchildren if they're willing to take on this massive debt?" The answer
is obviously no - frankly, Washington's financial recklessness has already put
a huge economic burden on the next generation.
But instead of rolling up their sleeves and working to get us out of this
mess, Democrats want to double down on new taxes and spend this country right
into bankruptcy.
