We're having trouble keeping up with all the blunders coming from the Republican Party lately, so in case you are too, here's the latest from Ohio State Rep. Bill Seitz:
"Last year we gave temporary authority to have [a ballot drop box] at the board of elections office because the COVID cowards were too afraid to walk into the board of elections and hand in their ballot."
Last time we checked, taking a global pandemic seriously to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is not cowardly. Protecting your family and community is not cowardly. Ensuring you don't get sick is not cowardly. These comments from an Ohio elected official are inappropriate and inexcusable.
Bill Seitz is leading the Ohio Republican anti-voter legislation effort that would limit mail-in ballot drop boxes -- a clear act of voter suppression. We're not standing by and letting them get away with their attacks on our right to vote.
Bill Seitz is the coward. He knows that if all Ohioans have fair access to the ballot, our state will start to look much more competitive for Democrats. Chip in $3 or more right now to stick it Bill Seitz and the Ohio Republican cowards who are too afraid of fair voting laws.
