Hey Friend,

Did you see Sam's email from the other day? It shared the powerful story of the Amazon workers in Bessemer, Alabama, who faced immense pressure from Amazon and still hasn't backed down. At Jobs With Justice, we stand in solidarity with all working people who are organizing—or want to organize—to earn a fair return on their work. We will continue to hold companies like Amazon accountable for the harm they cause inside of warehouses, in our communities, our economy, and our democracy.

But to continue our work, we need your help.

Donate today and help us build a future that puts working people first.

Thank you for your support!

Dear Nafisah,

Last month we witnessed the culmination of a hard-fought effort by warehouse workers organizing at the Amazon facility in Bessemer, Alabama. Amazon attempted almost everything in the union-busting playbook to derail organizing efforts.

And while the initial results ended in a loss for workers, the impact of their organizing efforts—and Amazon's repugnant anti-union campaign—was felt across the country. We witnessed what unchecked corporate power can do to those seeking to organize a union to earn a fair return on their work, but we were also inspired by what working people can do when they join together. There was an almost constant stream of news from Bessemer, where we learned the stories of workers navigating Amazon's grueling on the job demands and recoiled at Amazon's endless efforts to derail organizers.

Amazon managers posted "vote no" flyers in bathroom stalls, held mandatory meetings where workers had to listen to anti-union propaganda, and used social media discouraging the organizing effort. Amazon spent an estimated $10,000 per day on union-busting consulting firms.

Despite the initial outcome in Bessemer, some are calling it the most critical labor fight in the last fifty years. It awoke our collective consciousness to the challenges and dire conditions working people often face inside Amazon facilities and creates opportunities for other organizing campaigns at warehouses across the country.

We cannot sustain the momentum and build upon our efforts without people like you, and your support is critical. By standing with us this May, you are part of the effort to ensure we put people over profits. Join us and please make a donation to Jobs With Justice right now to help us fuel our campaigns. We're trying to raise $5,000 by May 14 and we're still $1,839 short, can you get us over the line?

We are joining alongside working people in campaigns like this one across the country, and through our campaign efforts, we can build—and sustain—worker power. It's why we joined with partner organizations to co-found the Athena coalition, which brings urgent attention to the harm Amazon causes in our communities, economy, and the environment. No matter the final outcome in Bessemer, the larger fight to organize Amazon is just beginning. Join us and help ensure working people have what they need to lead healthy and dignified lives.

Donate today and help us build the social and economic transformation working people need.

In Solidarity,
