In the wake of the mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas, the executive director of the gun lobby spoke several times with the president to see where he stood on reforming gun legislation.
Suzan DelBene and the Democratic House majority have already passed meaningful gun violence prevention measures including requiring universal background checks.
But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is blocking this necessary legislation in the Senate.
