John, many people don’t know just how crucial Secretaries of State are in the fight against voter suppression.
In most U.S. states and territories, the SoS is also the CEO – that’s C hief E lection O fficial – responsible for conducting elections in a safe and efficient manner.
In an ideal world, our Secretaries of State could simply do our jobs and keep elections fair and running smoothly. But the far right is making that more difficult than ever.
CHIP IN TO FIGHT VOTER SUPPRESSION [[link removed]]
There are two big problems right now:
First, the GOP has ramped up their attacks on voting rights and election integrity in the aftermath of 2020 and Trump’s Big Lie.
And second, there are 26 Secretary of State offices are up for election in 2022 – including many held by our very own DASS members:

If your state is on that list, a GOP win could make it harder for you to vote and exercise your fundamental rights. And even if it isn’t, these races will still sway the future of fair governance and the fate of the presidency.
