In this email, we’re going to ask if you’re able to pitch in towards our mid-May fundraising goal of raising 7,500 contributions by this Saturday. But we want to explain why our May 2021 goal is so important — and how your donation will make a powerful difference.
Did you know that last year Alexandria had the second-most expensive House race in the entire country? One of her opponents in 2020 raised more than $10 million alone. That’s because we’re a top target for Republicans and wealthy right-wing donors.
We can expect our next race to be just as expensive, so we’ve done the math to determine how much we need to raise this year, month-by-month, to remain competitive. But right now we’re about halfway through May, and we’re not halfway towards our goal. Based on our average contribution, we need to raise at least 7,500 contributions by this Saturday to stay on track.
Your contribution today could help get Alexandria’s message out to someone who has never heard it before. It could help a young voter get registered for the first time, or it could help train a new volunteer on how to share important conversations about the issues our neighbors care about.
