Hi there —

In the U.S., one in four women experience intimate partner physical violence. It shouldn’t be a partisan issue to reduce this number to zero.

And it wasn’t, until recently. In fact, when the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) was passed in the 90s, all Republicans voted in favor of it.

But this year, 172 Republicans voted against reauthorizing VAWA. Unbelievable.

Although even with that opposition, the Democratic-controlled House passed the legislation, and it’s now awaiting a vote in the Senate.

Let’s make sure this is a priority in the Senate. Add your name now to show your support for VAWA → [[link removed]]

It is the first major federal legislative package aimed at stopping violence against women, and it has provided billions of dollars in grants for lifesaving programs combatting domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking.

This critical legislation needs to be passed immediately. Add your name now and say that you’re in favor of reauthorizing VAWA. [[link removed]]
