Eid Mubarak, John!
As Muslims across the country celebrate Eid al-Fitr, we pause to honor the contributions of the Islamic community to our society. The sacrifices of figures like Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali, both civil rights activists, have added not only to our nation’s political consciousness but have aided in the advancement of Black people around the world.
Operating at the intersections of both race and religion, their willingness to be vocal, even in the face of adversity, has inspired generations of leaders destined to reform our nation and push us forward!
As the fight for equality continues, leaders like Congresswoman Ilhan Omar emerge, fighting each day to ensure that communities of color are adequately represented and equipped with the tools they need to be successful.
As we commemorate their sacrifice, we commit to love, honor, and protect our Muslim brothers and sisters as we work together to build a better nation. Together, we will build a more diverse and representative democracy.
In solidarity,
-- Brandon & Ra Shád
