Hey John,
We need YOU to show up on Friday, October 11th at 8:30am and Pack the Courtroom for DxE's First Trial: Diestel Turkey Ranch. DxE sued Diestel Turkey Ranch in 2016. Diestel, which is a major supplier of Whole Foods Market, falsely advertised that its turkeys are raised outdoors in picturesque conditions when, in fact, the vast majority are raised in massive industrial sheds. We need as many people as we can get to show the court that people care about the case! Meet us at 1221 Oak St, Oakland, CA 94612 and wear a blue DxE shirt. Will you be there?
Here are the other events we have happening this week (all taking place at the Berkeley Animal Rights Center, 2425 Channing Way, unless otherwise noted). Action events are colored in blue and community events are colored in orange -- both are crucial to our movement!
- Wednesday, October 9th, 9:30am: Pre Trial Protest: Expose Diestel and Whole Foods' Lies - Next Friday, DxE is going to trial for the first time ever. We are suing Diestel Turkey Ranch (a Whole Foods Supplier) for false advertising. Come and help us expose Diestel and Whole Foods' lies to the public two days before we go to court! Meet at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Bay Place
- Saturday, October 12th, 11:00am: Meetup: The Why and How of Positivity for Activists - At this meetup, Kitty Jones will be speaking about some of the tools we can implement in our lives to think and feel more positively and why it is so important - especially as activists - that we do so! Don't miss out. There will be fresh coffee and vegan brunch. Meetups happen every Saturday at 11am at the Berkeley Animal Rights Center for everyone and anyone who cares about animals and making the world a better place. See you there!
- Saturday, October 12th, 12:45pm: DxE Halloween Postering Event - Well we will be meeting at the Berkeley Animal Rights Center at 12:45pm after the weekly meetup and head out at 1pm to promote Halloween Party via postering from 1pm - 2pm around Berkeley! We will try going in pairs of 2 to split off into different directions and put up posters in public spaces that allow for it.
