John —

Pervis Payne, a Black man with an intellectual disability, has spent 33 years on death row in Tennessee. And throughout that time, he’s consistently said the same thing: He did not commit the crime for which he has been sentenced to die.

Yesterday, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee signed a bill into law that will modernize the state’s intellectual disability law and prevent the unconstitutional execution of people with intellectual disabilities like Pervis. This is huge news, but the fight is far from over — so we need you to make your voice heard right now.

More than 740,000 people have already signed the petition calling for justice for Pervis — but we’re trying to build a movement 1 million voices strong. Will you help us reach our goal by adding your name right now to say you support Pervis’ fight for justice and then share it with your friends and family?
