Today, it is clearer than ever that Donald Trump owns the soul of the Republican Party.

House Republicans voted today to remove Rep. Liz Cheney from Republican leadership. Cheney is an ideological conservative who voted with President Trump more than 90% of the time. But she was ousted because she refused to go along with the “Big Lie” that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump.

Is this really the future of the Republican Party? Will every Republican who dares to speak the truth be censured or purged from the GOP’s ranks? Sadly, today’s vote shows that is the case.

The GOP is spiraling down an anti-democratic path that is downright dangerous for our country.
