Join the Pentecost Novena

Dear Friend,

Modern society is plagued by what St. Paul calls "the spirit of the world." In the Sacraments of the Church, especially Baptism, we have received the Spirit of God.

Modern society is plagued by what St. Paul calls "the spirit of the world." In the Sacraments of the Church, especially Baptism, we have received the Spirit of God.

The triune God of Catholicism is a generous God, never ceasing to pour grace upon his people when they ask. Since the world today is so desperately in need of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, let us band together to pray this novena to the Holy Spirit, asking him to pour his gifts out upon us.

The first novena ever prayed was when Our Lady and the twelve apostles prayed for nine days in the upper room, waiting for Our Lord to send the Holy Spirit. The results were dramatic. On Pentecost Sunday, St. Peter, through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, converted 3,000 souls to Christ.

Now, we call on the same Spirit to intercede for us today. I ask you to join me in a Novena to the Holy Spirit from May 14th until May 22nd, the Vigil of Pentecost.

Over these nine days, you and I will ask Our Lord to send the Holy Spirit and to pour his gifts upon us, that we can be empowered to finish the work which Christ entrusted to the Church. We will also ask Jesus to fill us with the Holy Spirit and make us truly alive.

In this time when many of us are still unable to receive grace from the Sacraments, it is more important than ever to ask God to give us the grace which he desires to give to us.

Please sign-up to receive a new e-mail every day with a link to the Novena.
