Blue Dog Leadership Statement on President Biden’s Meeting with Bipartisan Leaders of Both Chambers of Congress

WASHINGTON—Today, Rep. Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01), the Blue Dog Coalition’s Co-Chair for Communications, issued the following statement on President Biden’s meeting with House and Senate leadership of both parties:

“The Blue Dogs commend President Biden for his continued efforts to bring both parties together to negotiate a bipartisan, bicameral deal for infrastructure legislation. We urge President Biden to continue these talks as long as Republicans continue to act in good faith in the negotiations. Negotiation takes time, and both sides will give and take throughout this process. The American people want results, and they want leadership—not rhetoric. That requires putting politics aside and working together to deliver good-paying jobs and a 21st-century infrastructure to all corners of this nation, from urban to rural America. More than anything else, it will require the pursuance of legislation that can make it to the President’s desk for his signature.”
