Friend,

Today, House Republicans stripped Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney of her leadership role for standing up to Donald Trump’s lies about a stolen election.

Let’s be clear — Congresswoman Cheney and I don’t agree about much. In fact, she voted with Donald Trump nearly 93% percent of the time while he was in office. While we don't share the same political views, I have great respect for Congresswoman Cheney's principled stand.

After the January 6th insurrection, Cheney did what she thought was right. She voted to impeach Donald Trump and urged her colleagues to tell the truth: Joe Biden and Kamala Harris had won and claims that the election was stolen were outright lies.

Today is another dark day for the Republican Party. By removing Cheney, House Republicans are sending the message that loyalty to Donald Trump is more important than standing up for our democracy. It’s the same message the Michigan GOP is sending by trying to pass dozens of laws designed to take away our freedom to vote!

We have to hold them accountable and protect our democracy. And that’s why I need your help.

Our fight for Michigan’s future is only getting started. Can you contribute now and support my efforts to make sure Michigan Democrats win in 2022?

Thank you,

Debbie
