Public support for Palestinians is at an all-time high. We are seeing elected officials, celebrities, athletes, and people all across the globe speaking out and taking the streets in support of Palestinian human rights. Just today, Congresswoman Marie Newman (D-IL) and 24 other Representatives sent a powerful letter to the State Department opposing the Israeli war crime of forcibly displacing Palestinians from their homes in Jerusalem. And yesterday, AMP helped organize a 1,000-person-strong rally at the State Department and march to the White House. Together with allied organizations, we helped deliver a petition to the State Department signed by more than 200,000 people calling on the US to stop Israel’s forced displacement of Palestinians. But let’s be clear, this momentum is the result of our collective work. For years we have been educating the public on the just cause of Palestine and have seen the tide shift. This moment shows us how far we’ve gotten. It is now on us to build on this momentum and end US support for the oppression of the Palestinians. As this holy month ends, we must recommit ourselves to supporting the Palestinian people who have sacrificed so much.
