It appears as though partisan politicians in Florida and Texas took notes on the assault on democracy in Georgia.
Our country is confronting the fallout of an unprecedented global pandemic, grappling with racial inequities, and still sorting through the aftermath of an armed insurrection. But instead of tackling the most pressing issues facing our nation, conservatives in states across the country have doubled down on weakening the foundations of our democracy.

At a time when our leaders should be doing everything in their power to protect voting rights, partisan politicians in Florida and Texas have taken notes from Georgia’s governor who recently signed an expansive voter suppression bill.

Just last week, Florida’s governor followed suit by signing sweeping voter suppression legislation into law with the help of the state’s gerrymandered General Assembly. And in Texas, lawmakers pushed forward a bill that punishes both voters and election workers, and even makes it easier for poll “watchers” to harass voters at the ballot box.

The All On The Line team has a plan to pass federal voting rights legislation and stop the manipulation of electoral districts which has given too many politicians power to pass voter suppression laws.

With more at stake than ever, will you make a donation to fuel our plans to pass the For the People Act and end gerrymandering?

Make no mistake, what happened in Georgia is being replicated in Texas and Florida -- and is part of a coordinated effort to suppress the vote nationwide and bend the guardrails of our democracy. If we don’t act now, most of these restrictive provisions could be law during the 2022 general elections. We can’t allow partisan politicians to further entrench themselves in power.

Thanks for stepping up,
Eric H. Holder, Jr.
