This morning, Rep. Liz Cheney -- one of the few Republicans standing up to Trump's election fraud lie -- was removed from her House GOP leadership post. It's likely that her replacement will be a strong Trump ally.

I know Rep. Cheney from our work on Natural Resources. We rarely agree, but I must say it's remarkable that the only person being held accountable by Kevin McCarthy after the attack on the US Capitol is the person who is speaking out against it.

McCarthy is purging his ranks of anyone who stands in Trump's way -- that should tell you everything you need to know about the current state of the GOP. It's a party of authoritarianism built on lies and debunked conspiracies. They'll continue darkening our democracy unless we do something about it.

We can't let McCarthy and his crew anywhere near the House majority. I'm running in one of four districts that McCarthy is targeting here in California, and I've never been more fired up to go on the offense to make sure McCarthy never gets the gavel:
