I was born into a Republican family and until 1997, I was a member of the Republican Party.

But, when I saw the direction the Republican Party was moving under Newt Gingrich, I knew I had to leave it. And when Trump became president and I saw how the Republican Party was falling in line with Trump's lies, I knew I had to run as a Democrat to lead CA-48.

Now, the Republican Party has taken another step. They're ousting Liz Cheney for telling the truth and holding Trump accountable for his Big Lie, showing once again that the Republican Party of law-and-order is no more. 

We need elected officials who will put country over party -- and that is exactly what I will do. Will you help me return to leading CA-48 by pitching in today?
