As you may know, Montana is going to be getting a 2nd Congressional District for 2022.

What you may not know is that Republicans in our State Legislature have rammed through a bill aimed at taking away the independence of our redistricting commission.

Luckily, our Constitution was revised in 1972 to keep elected officials from choosing their voters when their voters should be choosing them, and courts have upheld the authority and independence of the bi-partisan redistricting commission time and time again.

However, this shows that Montana Republicans will stop at nothing to make sure they rig the system in their favor, and our Democratic nominee for the new district is going to need all the help they can get.

While it is a comfort to know that the 2nd District probably won't be aggressively gerrymandered, Republicans are going to try their best to do it anyway. So we need to get ahead of the curve in electing a Democratic Congressperson from Montana!
