Friend, What would you do if a member of your own family was falling into the grip of white supremacy? That’s the wrenching question at the heart of the season two premiere of our podcast, Sounds Like Hate – available now on your podcast app of choice. In this episode, we interview a father and grandmother who watched as their teenage relative became more and more radicalized by the neo-Nazi, accelerationist group The Base (a dangerous organization we first covered in season one). Unsure of where to turn, the family initiated a criminal investigation, with shocking consequences. We were granted exclusive access to The Base’s former Michigan headquarters in the months after an FBI raid discovered that the property, once a family farm, was being used as a tactical training ground. In this episode, we tour the premises with the father, whose son became an extremist and white supremacist, as he grapples with how this could have happened — and what can be done to prevent it from happening to other families. Sounds Like Hate season two will continue to unfold over the coming weeks. To ensure you don’t miss a single episode, subscribe today using your podcast app of choice. You can also stream all released episodes, including season one, on the Sounds Like Hate website. And if you’re intrigued by what you hear, please tell your friends!
