Before I ran for Congress, I started my own small business as a mom of two.

I remember all too well the struggles of balancing a job and raising young kids. Childcare is essential for working families, yet the cost is astronomical -- which is why millions have been forced out of the workforce throughout the pandemic, with women and workers of color hit the hardest.

President Biden’s American Families Plan would make a nearly $2 trillion investment to lift up working families, creating a national comprehensive paid family and medical leave program and providing direct support to ensure that low- and middle-income families spend no more than seven percent of their income on high-quality childcare.

The United States is the richest country in the world, but we continue to be the only developed nation without guaranteed paid family leave -- that’s got to change NOW. We need 3,000 supporters to sign on as citizen co-sponsors of the American Families Plan!
