Tomorrow, the Senate Judiciary Committee will take a key step in advancing Kristen Clarke’s nomination to lead the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice, allowing her nomination to advance to the Senate floor – so we need to show the Senate the breadth of support Clarke has!
Clarke is an unparalleled advocate for justice who would make an exemplary Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the Department of Justice. But the Far Right has been continuing to spread unfounded lies and attacks on her character, so we need to keep up the drumbeat of support until the moment that she is confirmed.
Ever since President Biden nominated Clarke for assistant attorney general for civil rights, the Far Right has launched a full-blown propaganda campaign to thwart her confirmation. Advancing false and inflammatory narratives, the Right has proven they will stop at nothing to prevent Clarke from being confirmed.
But the truth is, Clarke is exactly the type of person we want in the position she has been nominated to fill. Your senators need to hear from you directly that you support her confirmation; phone calls are one of the few ways that senators get such direct feedback from their constituents.
