Dear John,

Exciting news! This week, the House of Representatives will vote on the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), critical legislation to help pregnant workers that is long overdue. This important bill for pregnant workers is moving forward because of your support and commitment to creating a more just world for women and families.

Tell Your Representative to Pass the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act Now [[link removed]]
We can all create a reality where pregnant workers are safe and thriving.
TAKE ACTION [[link removed]]

Congress passed the Pregnancy Discrimination Act more than 40 years ago, yet for far too many people, being pregnant at work still leads to being fired, pushed on to unpaid leave or denied reasonable accommodations necessary to stay safe and healthy, like bathroom breaks, a stool to sit on, or avoiding heavy lifting for a few weeks.

No one should be forced to make the choice between a paycheck and a healthy pregnancy. [[link removed]]

We’re well over a year into the pandemic and we know that pregnant workers are at great risk of contracting COVID-19. This bill is especially important for workers in front-line jobs like nurses and home health aides—more than eight in 10 of whom are women, and mostly women of color. Something as simple as properly fitting personal protective equipment could mean a woman can keep her job while pregnant instead of getting pushed off the job at a time when she needs her income the most.

Tell your representative: Vote YES on the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act NOW. [[link removed]]
